The first generation of the 100 proof single barrel was originally released in 1997 exclusively to global travel retail. In 2010 Jack Daniel's updated the packaging to this bottle until it was discontinued in 2015 and replaced with the current single barrel 100 proof version.

Jack Daniel’s Single Barrel 100 Proof Tennessee Whiskey has been hand-selected by our Master Tasters for its unique taste and smooth, aromatic character. These limited barrels are aged in the highest reaches of our barrelhouses, where the whiskey’s color and taste mature an extra measure.

Each barrel is never blended, so you can expect slight differences from bottle to bottle. And since Single Barrel 100 Proof is offered exclusively in duty free airport shops, it makes for a memorable gift to any discerning whiskey drinker’s collection, or simply the perfect start to your next vacation.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Caramel, sweetness, vanilla, spices, oak.

Taste: Sweet, powerful onset, lots of caramel, sweetcorn, fine spiciness, slightly bitter, lots of volume.

Finish: Long warm spicy aftertaste with oak notes.

Long before today's Single Barrel 100 Proof, there was Jack Daniels Silver Select. The first generation launched in 1997 exclusively for global travel retail; in 2010 the packaging was updated to this second-generation bottle, which was discontinued in 2015. What we have is brand-new stock of that 700mL release at 100 proof (50% ABV). Each barrel was hand-selected by the Master Tasters, aged high in the barrelhouse and never blended, so bottles vary slightly. The nose shows caramel, vanilla, spice and oak; the palate is sweet and powerful with caramel and sweetcorn; the finish is long, warm and spicy. It is a fine piece for collectors of discontinued Jack and a rewarding neat pour. Today's equivalent is the 100 Proof Single Barrel.
